Many of you are eager to hear news of what’s next with Luminair. With the release of iOS 7 today, here’s just a little status update. First of all, the existing Luminair apps have been tested and will run on iOS 7, with some minor UI issues here and there. If you encounter any issues on iOS 7, please go ahead and report them to support.

Now for the status update on what’s next. Sometime in the next few weeks, Luminair v2.5 will be released simultaneously for iPad and iPhone as free updates to the existing apps. v2.5 has been under development for some time, and since this past June has been developed under the new iOS 7 SDK in preparation for this Fall release. This is an exciting update for reasons that are yet to be revealed (sorry!), and you’re really going to enjoy the new features. More info on v2.5 will be available before it’s release, so please continue to check our news page, as well as our Twitter and Facebook pages.

A milestone

appstore

5 years ago today on July 24th, 2008, Luminair for iPhone was released on the App Store! The very first lighting control app for iOS, launching just a couple of weeks after the App store first opened!

It’s amazing to see the places Luminair has shown up around the world and the projects it’s being used on 5 years later. This is such a wide range of fields… From Oscar and Emmy winning movies and TV shows, to children’s theater, architecture, weddings and more… Bringing creative lighting control to the masses!

Thanks to everyone for coming along for the ride and making Luminair a success! You’ll be glad to know that there’s some great new things in development for future versions of Luminair. More on that soon, so stay tuned!

Luminair for iPad appears on Modern Family
Luminair for iPad made a brief cameo on the latest episode of the popular American TV show “Modern Family” last night! The character Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) uses Luminair for iPad for some pretty outrageous home control, including lighting, fireplace, and even a dishwasher!?

Watch the full episode, titled “Mistery Date”, over on ABC’s web site.
